A lovely greeting awaits your visit -Achtung Minen!

Another beautifully preserved German Naval Batterie in Normandy that saw intense
action on D-DAY.

This wonderful open air museum features a detailed account of the men that lived and fought here. It also includes a hospital bunker, living quarters for the troops as well as detailed mannequins, equipment etc.

The museum also has a nice gift shop.

A board details the events of the batterie Crisbecq when you arrive

All photographs on this visit were taken on Friday, August 16th & Saturday, August 17th, 2013 and are subject to copyright. Please be respectful and do not copy them for your own personal or professional use. If you would like to contact the photographer and admin of this web site please e-mail admin@germanbunkers.com

I used two different cameras on the 2013 visit. The Nikon Coolpix 35mm and the Apple iPad mini.

A 683 type bunker - This was ordered destroyed after the battle hence it's condition.

The open emplacement and ring stand for the 24 cm type gun, look carefully at the faded red paint, that was there for a reason (see next image)

The azimuth chart - this is very fascinating as this was the firing chart for the gunners. Each name had it's own heading and bearing. When the order was given to fire Odol for instance the calculations for the positions were already pre-set! And this paint has stood here after 70 plus years!
