WN44 La Breche, Arromanches, Normandy

Rue des Feres Victor

If you are already in the town of Arromanches then WN44 is easy to find and a nice walk along the cliffs.

You will walk along a dead end road called Rue des Feres Victor. It has wonderful views of Gold Beach as well as the remains of Mulberry Harbor. At the end of the road there are some houses to the left and straight ahead lies WN44. If you continue walking you can walk along the cliff side.

I used two different cameras on the 2016 visit. The Nikon Coolpix 35mm and the Apple iPhone Six Plus.

The entrance and exit for the crew of WN44 La Breche.

The top of WN44 and the view east to the town of Arromanches.

inside the gun room of WN44, cramped quarters.

The gun inside this bunker was a 4.7 cm, here you can see the plate.

An outside close-up of the business end of the 4.7 cm gun and it's plate.

The crew of WN44 had a commanding view of the landing craft on Gold Beach on D-Day, what a terrifying sight it must of been!

A view from the cliffs edge a few feet away from WN44 and a view of the remains of Mulberry Harbor.

Another nice view from the cliff side and Mulberry Harbor. Both WN44 and Mulberry standing the test of time all these years later.
