STP 155 – Tummler – Munitions 2

STP 155 Tummler munitions - this is the 2nd bunker in the area.

Pas-de-Calais region

The second Tummler munitions bunker is accessible to the public though in all honesty there really isn't much to see.
But in the spirit of bunker hunting in France this is just as important as all the rest as far as history is concerned.

You will be required to either hike, walk or bicycle your way in, there are no roads to this location. I rented a bicycle myself and had a great time as you can explore the beautiful area plus a few other bunker ruins in the vicinity. I also filmed my bicycle ride to this site and the surrounding area and ruins using my GoPro camera so check back soon in this section and I will include the film.

The beautiful and historic town of Audinghen is located to the south east of the bunker remains, you can either walk, hike from the town or you can rent a bike and take any of the interceding trails in the area. If you look at the map on the top right I have included which trails to use.

Bicycle in a bunker, I rented this electric bike to get around the Cap-de-Gris-Nez.

I used two different cameras on the 2016 visit. The Nikon Coolpix 35mm and the Apple iPhone Six S Plus.

The Tummler munitions bunker #2 as seen from across this French meadow.

The inside is remarkably clean seen as it's been exposed to the elements for 70 plus years.

The power source for the large light switch lever.

Each ammo room had a separate steel door. That red paint is original and has been found in a number of bunkers in France.

Taking a look inside the large ammo rooms. Each one supporting the adjacent batterie.

A view from the rear. There would have been some kind of defensive flak emplacement on top.
